Sopra Group is pleased to have been a strong supporter of GovCamp Scotland - an event based on an established international model that applies a Government context to evolving Web 2.0 technologies and innovative ways of improving service delivery and engaging with citizens.

This highly interactive event was held on 7th November in Edinburgh and attracted around 300 attendees from academia and the public, private and third sectors. Government ministers, thought leaders, students, civil servants, web 2.0 advocates, bloggers and community members came together to debate the many issues that are vital to Scotland's digital future. This genuinely collaborative conference enabled delegates to participate both in person and digitally, via twitter, facebook etc.

The closing address was given by Fiona Hyslop, MSP, Scottish Government, who is also the Cabinet's Digital Participation Champion. Ms Hyslop invited representatives from public, private and third sector organisations to sign Scotland's Digital Participation Charter.

The charter commits the signatories to bringing together their collective skills and resources over the lifetime of this Parliament to increase digital participation levels in Scotland and deliver the associated economic, social and environmental benefits. Success will be measured by the contribution that the signatories to this Charter make to delivering Scotland's Digital Ambition.

Sopra Group is pleased to have been among the private sector companies invited to sign the charter, which highlights our commitment to enabling Scotland's digital future.

The event was free and open to all and held in the University of Edinburgh's John McIntyre Conference Centre on Monday 7th November.
